thriving as a super mom


On a beautiful Sunday evening,, Sarah sat in front of her cake with her husband. It was her birthday. They were having a nice dinner date to mark the occasion.

Sarah  made a silent wish and blew her candles. She had two lovely kids but juggling career and family had its toll on her and she was desperate for a way out!

STEP 1: GET ENOUGH SLEEP

Most moms try to do it all even if they have to lose some sleep. This is not a healthy practice. Try to catch a nap too during the day to stay refreshed. 

STEP 2: ENGAGE IN EXERCISE

Moving your body and having a regular exercise routine is key to your well-being. You can start with easy routines and scale to more intense workouts. Don't like to exercise? No worry, take your kids for a hike or bike ride. Just move...

STEP 3: SPIRITUALITY

Meditation could be a good fit for you. You can find a 3 minutes Super Mom Meditation, which you can just as well play in the car or while waiting in line at the supermarket. Some Essential Oils in a diffuser can work wonders also. Or bring some more color into your daily life to lift your spirit. 

STEP 4: let it go.

Remember the song? Summon the courage to let go of things that you no longer need. This habit can help you create room for connecting with your inner self and wisdom.

Sure, as a mom, we have an hour to meditate each day. We'll just let the kids cook dinner. Who cares if the will destroy the kitchen in the process? 

NO, let's get real. 3 minutes, that is the time that you as mom can spare to uplift your spirit. 


STEP 5: CREATE A GRATITUDE JOURNAL.

Being thankful for what you have paves way for grace and more positive things in your life.  Giving gratitude should be a part of your daily routine and you will be surprised at how much abundance you will get. 

STEP 6: DISCONNECT FROM TECHNOLOGY.

Never go to bed with any of your devices. Ensure that you switch off and leave them out of your room so you can reconnect with your inner self.  Despite the advantages of technology, it comes with a number of disadvantages which include distracting you.

STEP 7: take rhythmic breaths.

Make it a habit to take deep breaths when you are stressed up. Focus on the inhalation and exhalation to help you relax and regain back your strength.

Smell a flower, enjoy the little things!

STEP 8: stare at a pleasant image or item.

Pictures that remind us of pleasant memories should be kept handy. Whenever you feel lonely or stressed up you can stare at it for some time.    

STEP 9: learn to forgive yourself.

Don't be too hard on yourself especially if
you were unable to give your best. It is only when you are able to forgive yourself that you can forgive others .

STEP 10: make small kind gestures to yourself

Enjoy that cup of tea. Put on some make up. Take a moment to enjoy the little things. 
They'll take you a long way!

STEP 11: make personal connections.

Reconnect with people who you usually take for granted and establish a sense of belonging . This will help you see life from a different perspective.

STEP 12: offer help to someone.

Making people around you happy has a magical way of making you happy too. This can be achieved with small kind gestures towards friends and family in need.
